Thinking in Java on Mac OS X

Bruce Eckels book Thinking in Java 4th edition is a good starting point for learning Java. The book can be complemented by the “Annotated Solution Guide for Thinking in Java”. Although the book states that the instructions, which are written for windows, can be used as a guide to install the accompanying source-code on OS X, the actual installation can take some of your precious time. Based on my experience with installation of the source code, i rewrote the chapter “Installing the code” for OS X.
